Waste is only the beginning of a new idea.
Hello, I am Laura Zabo
Creativity has been part of my life from the start. As a child, I was always turning ideas into reality — trading snails, selling newspapers, and making beaded jewellery.
My upcycling journey began over ten years ago in Tanzania, where I discovered brightly painted sandals made from repurposed car tyres. The idea that something beautiful and functional could come from discarded materials inspired me to start creating.
Back home, I began crafting tyre belts and selling handmade accessories at London markets. Over the years, my designs expanded into inner tube jewellery and other unique pieces, each reflecting a modern, ethically aware lifestyle.
I aim to create bold, expressive accessories that celebrate individuality while being kind to the planet. Every piece is a reminder that creativity can transform waste into something meaningful — and that fashion can be beautiful, conscious, and inspiring.
Upcycling from the Bottom of My Heart
From bicycle inner tubes to Nespresso pods, I’ve always loved creating something new. Sometimes bold and strong, sometimes delicate and flowing — this is me! Always renewing, always refreshing, always evolving.
So far, I’ve upcycled:
- 18,000–20,000 bike inner tubes
- 6,000–7,000 bike tyres
- 3,000 Nespresso pods
- 200 Tetra Pak boxes
- Hundreds of reused packaging materials
Other milestones:
- More than 2,300 Etsy sales
- Over 600 5★ reviews
- Travel is part of my life — I create and upcycle in every place I call home; UK, France, Spain, Hungary, Egypt
My Jewellery Around the World
A few shops also sell my pieces in the UK, Lagrasse (France), and at the beautiful and colourful independent chain DSIGN in the center of Amsterdam. If you’re interested in selling my jewellery, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Many small items are not offered on my website to reduce packaging and the environmental impact of shipping, but I can create any piece you see in my lookbook.
